This is a poor contest and with doubts over many it may be worth taking a chance on PRINCE LOUIS on his chasing debut, with Celian and Killfinnan Castle looking the best of the opposition. The selection is saddled by Charlie Mann, who has emerged from the recent barren spell much as he went into it, in good form. The seven-year-old failed to complete on his last three visits to a racecourse, and so he has been given a break of almost a year. He had previously shown ability in France, looks sure to be well prepared for this and he has been dropped to what may look a very handy mark come the end of this race, so we will suggest him. Ortega goes well here, although he has never won at the track, nor on ground slower than good, and he has had plenty of attempts, so is probably one to be taking on again. Celian was in the process of at least making the frame when falling at Plumpton last time and he acts well with cut. The drop back to this trip, however, is not certain to suit and so we will look elsewhere. Kilfinnan Castle has conditions and trip to suit and at just 1lb out of the handicap and with a feather weight to carry, has prize money claims in this moderate affair. Thedreamstillalive looks well handicapped on his best form and acts on this ground, though he has a bit to prove after recent efforts, and preference is for Prince Louis.
