In depth

Verdict

It looks like we'll have a short priced favourite here in PAIRC NA GCAPALL and he has the vote with Giolla Da and Hernando's Boy the best of the rest. While it's true that the pick is rather high in the handicap the manner of his nine length victory on his penultimate start suggests his current mark is well within his score. He has the strongest form of any of the field and as long as he is feeling no ill effects after falling when well clear in front last time he should score nicely. Giolla Da makes his UK debut off a competitive enough looking mark and has been consistent in recent starts. He is untested on this quicker ground and it's difficult to see where he'll find the extra improvement he needs to score here. Hernando's Boy makes his handicap debut off a fair mark and Keith Reveley's runner is one win from one visit here. His form looks quite strong in some decent novice events and if the assessor has underestimated him he could spring a surprise. Crashtown Hall may also be weighted to be in the mix on his handicap debut while Blaze ahead likes this track but would have to find a lot more to beat Pairc Na Gcapall.
