Verdict

This is a very poor yet wide open seller where a number can score but we give a very tentative nod in the direction of GROUND BREAKER though Safe Investment and Chalice Welcome have claims. Ignoring the pick's last run he was running well in better races than this at the back end of last season. He wasn't disgraced when fourth of 12 off a mark two pounds heavier on his penultimate effort which was preceded by a victory on quick ground when four pounds better off. He is by no means a strong selection but should go well at a bigger price. Safe Investment has not lived up to his name including when running poorly off a mark three pounds higher last time in a similar race. With his reduction in weight he should be more competitive here but he would like the conditions a little softer under hoof. Chalice Welcome looks a little high in the handicap and may also find the ground a little quick while Ras Laffin has a bundle of weight in hand on the ones we¿ve mentioned and on these terms should be involved. We can't stress how hard this race is to call but Ground Breaker is just the selection.
