      Verdict

      Nicky Henderson bids for back-to-back victories in this usually-informative contest with Style De Garde. He made a winning start for the yard at Newbury and looks capable of better but has to compete off level weights against GUMBALL. The latter was let down by his jumping when second to Henderson’s star filly Apple’s Shakira in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham but still finished well clear of the third having beaten a useful sort at Chepstow earlier. Aiguille Rouge looks to be on upward curve but this is easily her toughest task to date. Embole wasn’t disgraced when third at Newcastle and is now blinkered but the form of that race hasn’t worked out as well as expected.
