Verdict

Kalifourchon, the only one with experience, started a short-priced favourite at Exeter but found the 1m5f too short. Bendomingo has a smart jumper's pedigree and is one for the future but Dandy Duke is bred for the Flat and should have more basic speed than most. Elkstone and the filly Tethra are also likely to have enough pace to get involved and the latter travels down from Yorkshire as does Still Acting, who is a half-brother to three winners between the flags. The breeders of AVENUE OF HONOUR couldn't have envisaged him making his racecourse debut in a Huntingdon bumper, especially after he went for $250,000 as a yearling and even more as a two-year-old. He's a half-brother to six winners on the Flat and, providing the ground doesn't come up testing, can make a successful start.
