In depth

Verdict

Nicky Henderson has chosen this for the chasing debut of MY WIGWAM OR YOURS, who presumably could have been found easier options in beginners' events. An impressive winner of a maiden hurdle at Newbury, he reappeared last month with a very good second to Tea For Two in a race that should work out at Kempton and can make a successful transition to the bigger obstacles. A Tail Of Intrigue, rated 13lb lower than the selection over timber, already has a victory to his credit over fences having made a successful debut over a shorter trip here last month. O Maonlai has joined Tom George from Ireland and it looks a very smart acquisition as he's bred to be a staying chaser yet managed to land a bumper and beat a huge field over hurdles at Fairyhouse. Ned Stark is another very interesting contender making his debut over the bigger obstacles and though he's only had three starts, including a point-to-point, he looked potentially useful when scooting up at Chepstow in April. Crookstown won three times in moderate company over hurdles but looks certain to make a better chaser judging by his debut success at Uttoxeter where he would have won more easily but for a last-fence blunder.
