Verdict

Another interesting race where we will take a chance on RING BO REE to return successfully from a long absence, while Old Brigade can show up well and Carmela Maria can get involved. The selection is lightly-raced and has not been seen since finishing runner-up on soft ground and over a similar trip at Kempton in February 2009. He is better off at these weights with Old Brigade than when falling in a race won by that opponent at Ludlow 18 months ago, and he is likely to be fit enough to do himself justice first-time back. Old Brigade managed to follow-up that win at Exeter, but he has thrown in two poor runs from his only three subsequent starts. He will stay every yard of this trip and acts with cut, and after a break he could come back refreshed and ready to show more. Carmela Maria has made the frame in three starts over hurdles without yet winning. She acts on soft and at these weights she again has frame claims. Legion D'Honneur looks in need of faster ground, while Mvuto is another interesting contender after an absence, now stepped up in trip. It's not a race to be dogmatic about and Ring Bo Ree is given the nod.
