In depth

Verdict

Some real characters come into opposition here but the resurgent form of Pontius is enough to sway the vote in his favour. The turning of the ground has revitalised the gelding and he can score at the expense of Tosheroon and Picture Palace, who may need a little more cut in the ground. Jaseur, a one-time favourite for the Ebor on the Flat, has lacked consistency over the last couple of season, but is not one to give up on completely yet. Whilst Fandango De Chassy has chances on the pick of his form but can be prone to the occasional off day.
