In depth

Verdict

Sir Cumference has lost no caste in defeat in better races than this of the same mark in recent starts and is taken to bounce back to winning ways at the main expense of Blunham Hill and Atticus Finch. The last mentioned reverts to handicapping off a fair mark after a spell hunter chasing and rates a bigger threat than top weight Broadbrook Lass, who has struggled since his win at Uttoxeter in January. Oriental Style has been off the track for some time and the market may be the best guide as to his chances, while Lantaur Lad has given little sign of encouragement in recent starts. Stand Easy is capable but tends to find at least one too good and is likely to do so again, while New Perk may find the softening ground against him. There are no such problems for John Upson's Blunham Hill who is slipping to an attractive mark but narrow preference is for Sir Cumference. The Venetia Williams-trained gelding had little chance behind the rejuvenated Robber at Chepstow last time and in this grade looks worth a bet.
