VOLCANIC won three bumpers in France and made a successful start for Donald McCain at Carlisle where he had little to beat. He jumped out to the left throughout and may not get away with it in this much tougher race though there looks much more to come and he's handed the vote. The very experienced Circus Star has won here in the past and though well beaten at Newcastle last time the ground was too quick and today's conditions are more to his liking. Tikkandemickey has won twice over hurdles, both on this track including a handicap. He was very impressive last time and his rider's claim is a major bonus. Mohawk Ridge ploughed through the Carlisle mud last month to gain a comfortable all-the-way victory and was conceding 7lb to the odds-on Desoto County at Kelso on quicker going last time. If the ground remains testing he should go well again. Kings Folly may do best of the remainder.
