BOLD RANSOM is given the tentative vote with both Canada Street and Laertes worth noting. The selection landed a small gamble on his last outing of last season at Newcastle. He has not been seen since then and has the best part of a year off the track. He was a big outsider on his return and ran better than expected to finish an eye catching third of eleven. He is sure to benefit for the outing and if he recapture his best form he will not be far away. Canada Street reverts back to hurdles after jumping difficulties over fences. A faller twice in his last three outings this will be very much a confidence booster for him. McCoy has been booked which is a positive and any market moves should be closely monitored. Laertes won a decent race over fences at Perth back in April for which the handicapper raised him twelve pounds. He is in fact more favourably handicapped over fences and has to run off a mark of 135 here over the smaller obstacles. For that reason he looks opposable so for the winner we return to Bold Ransom.
