Verdict

Our Laura B was in fine form in the spring and early summer having won twice at Newcastle including on heavy ground. She was outpaced at a higher level here last time and the concession of 21lb, including jockey claim, to SERIOUS EGO may prove beyond her. Nicky Richards' charge likes it here and goes well in the conditions as he showed twelve days ago and looks the one to beat. Applaus has won around here though it's taken him ten runs to do so while Beat Box may just need this after a long break. Malangen has done brilliantly to win ten races in his career though heavy ground would probably scupper his chances.
