In depth

Verdict

BLAZING PORT (NAP) made a successful bumper debut at Sedgefield last December and made a very promising start over hurdles behind the odds-on On The Wild Side over this track and trip last month. With that under his belt, he can get off the mark over timber. Lanty Slea only had two to beat on his bumper debut and just scrambled home and the beaten horses have done nothing for the form but Morozov Cocktail belied a 100/1 SP with a staying-on effort at Wetherby, though that was over an extended 2m3f so this looks on the short side. Lady Villanelle made a decent start in a Kelso bumper but was beaten a long way at Newcastle later.
