Verdict
Takaatuf seemingly lost his way on the flat for Mark Johnston and may now be best watched first time out over hurdles in a race where Premier Sagas has the best form and highest rating of those to have earned one but he may struggle to give weight away all round and it may be worth siding with VANNIN. Tim Easterby's gelding has run well but found one too good in each of his three starts in bumpers in races at Carlisle and Catterick and he now makes his debut over hurdles. With the stable beginning to hit form now and with the four-year-old sure to have been well schooled, the son of Golan looks worth chancing first time out over hurdles. Stable companion Catch Key was nothing out of the ordinary from admittedly limited outings on the level and is probably best watched on her hurdling debut, while Bere Davis was useful on the flat but just two wins from 30 starts and plenty of placed efforts suggest that he is likely to be placed at best again but he may do better now switched to the winter game. Malcolm Jefferson's Cocoa Key is rated 110 but was well beaten off that mark in a handicap last time and preference is for Vannin, who is taken to open his account over hurdles at the first time of asking.
