Mr Christie ran well in this race last season and although a touch unpredictable looks well handicapped and could spring a surprise. He stays well and will be suited by soft ground. Jim Bell, although in good form has been penalised by the handicapper of late and although likely to be one of the fancied horses can be overlooked here. Menelek Lord, although strictly held by Jim Bell on their run two starts ago ran well last time out and runs off his old handicap mark here. He has definite place claims. Broom Close is unproven at this trip but is suited by conditions and can be given solid place chances based on his good recent form while Vilprano, although hard to win with, will relish the conditions and looks well treated on the best of his form.
