    Verdict

Chicago Outfit sprung a major surprise when scoring over course and distance last time but that did rather come out of the blue and it is questionable whether the veteran can back up that success on this quicker ground. There is an argument to suggest that Captain Mowbray is in the grip of the handicapper but such is his reliability and consistency that it would be folly to ignore his chance here. Trip and ground are fine and a good run is expected but APACHE PILOT is just preferred in receipt of 22lb from the Menzies charge. The Barnes inmate - a course and distance winner - knows his way around here like clockwork and should be right in the mix off this lowly weight. Fly Home Harry and Iskabeg Lane could also get involved in a trappy handicap.
