CAIUS MARCIUS didn't jump very well when an odds-on flop on his hurdling debut at Newcastle but it was a different matter here in April when he was always travelling strongly. Further progress is expected and he might have a bit more scope than likely market rival Byron Flyer, though Ian Williams' raider is much respected having won his last three over timber and being particularly impressive last time in a handicap at Market Rasen. Course and distance winner Desert Island Dusk looks up against it with the aforementioned on these terms while Petapenko disappointed on his return to action at Perth. Former pointer Novo Dawn looks best of the rest.
