In depth

Verdict

Double Default should be capable of landing a modest event like this and he gets the vote ahead of Chief Dan George and Frankie Figg. Nicky Richards excells with this type of horse and he looks set for a good run with ground and trip in his favour. He will not have to be a world beater to land this event on his hurdles debut. Chief Dan George has had plenty of chances but has taken on some decent opponents in the past. He was well held when falling on his recent return to the track and may again find one or two too good. Howard Johnson saddles both Honour Guard and Frankie Figg and the last named could be his main hope as he showed plenty of promise on his debut run here recently. The consistent Cash Man may do best of the others, but Double Default is the one that gets the verdict.
