Notable talent on display in the jockey ranks and a chance for Dale Irving to land the prize with RUSSIAN RASCAL. The Barnes yard has enjoyed a couple of winners in the last fortnight and their gelding has produced much-improved efforts the last twice and is clearly at his best on quick ground. He is up 11lb for those performances which does temper enthusiasm somewhat but he should be around at the business end. Budarri has also shown improved form the last twice and looks to be finding his feet over timber for the Coltherds, whilst Cherry Princess ran well here last time after a break and Ross Chapman is a good booking. Instingtive seems better on softer ground and Hermanus is the one to note for money with James Bowen up for a stable just starting out in the training ranks.
