The short list for this race contains Ahmedy, Folk Tune and Carrietau with the selection being Ahmedy. Ahmedy and Folk Tune were separated by three lengths when they met at Musselburgh on good ground in December, and Ahmedy can confirm the form, although the softer conditions do not make that a foregone conclusion. Folk Tune has since gone on to score and earn a rating of 112. Carrietau has had a fair season, winning once and being placed on a few occasions so his rating of 115 sets the benchmark to the form, while English City came good at Kelso last time but he surely has to improve on that if he is to win today. Of the others, the Len Lungo-trained Idarah has shown promise, as have Solitary Palm and William John but the others need to take a step forward if they are to feature today. Not so with Ahmedy, who gets our vote in this contest.
