Bumper winner Dr Sanderson made a winning start over hurdles at Worcester but probably didn’t have much to beat after the second favourite fell. However, he still makes more appeal than September’s Warwick scorer He's A Goer, who has been beaten twice over this trip, and French import Espoir De Guye. The latter is trained by Venetia Williams, who also runs SHIVERMETIMBERS. His hurdles career has had more downs than ups to date but there were excuses last time and he would be the one to beat on his second to Zalvados at Ludlow last season – headgear and a 7lb claimer should help his cause today. Star Of Lanka was fourth at Sandown earlier this month and should be suited by a longer trip, though he has yet to race on going this quick.
