In depth

Verdict

Like The Sound was due to contest a handicap yesterday at Stratford so may be a doubtful participant. Ice Cool Champs is sure to be popular as he represents a powerful yard and got off the mark at the first time of asking over timber over a slightly shorter trip here last month - the second almost went one better next time. SEYMOUR STAR has to give him 6lb but Alastair Ralph’s gelding has been in great form around Ludlow lately and he’ll probably take some beating if handling this slightly stiffer track. Coole Cody wasn’t winning out of turn at Wincanton but Nobuttaboy has finished last in both runs since winning at Southwell in December.

Formwatch

Ice Cool Champs (IRE) 4-7fav (11-4) Prominent, led 4 out, pressed from last, held on well towards finish, won at Hereford 2m 4f mdn (4) hvy in Feb beating Tarrona (11-4) by 1 3/4l, 12 ran.

Nobuttaboy (IRE) 4-1 (11-7) Led, not fluent 1st, quickened pace on long run before 8th, narrowly headed after 3 out, chased winner until ridden before next, soon weakened quickly, tailed off, last of 6, dist behind Nautical Nitwit (11-7) at Southwell 3m hcp (3) gs in Feb.

Blue Rhythm (IRE) 66-1 (11-2) Held up in last pair, lost touch 4 out, tailed off, 5th of 6, 34 1/2l behind Potters Story (11-2) at Ffos Las 2m (4) sft in Feb.
