In depth

Verdict

Less than usual for us to go on in this bumper and the pedigree of Vacario suggests that perhaps it's worth taking a chance on him, while Never Ask should be better for racecourse experience. Charlie Mann-trained Vacario is related to German Group performers and comes from a yard who do pretty well with limited numbers in this sphere, so he is chanced. Never Ask tries good ground after a pleasing soft ground Catterick debut and he can improve. The Little Master was not cheap and is a relatively rare runner in this form of the game for David Elsworth and on that basis alone merits plenty of respect. Evan Williams with Horsham Lad and Ricard Hannon with Gonnashine are others who catch the eye, but it's one to watch really and without market clues Vacario gets the nod.
