Phar Out Phavorite can complete a hat-trick at the expense of Alva Glen, with Nuit Sombre and La Lambertine expected to figure in proceedings as well. Emma Lavelle has Phar Out Phavorite in good heart at present, and the six-year-old can defy a rise in the weights again. He has been described as a bit of a monkey in the past, but has taken on a new lease of life since being fitted with a visor, scoring over the course and distance and following up at Ludlow. There is every reason to believe that he can find the necessary improvement needed to beat Alva Glen with conditions in his favour, and he should be backed before the handicapper tightens his grip further. Alva Glen scooted clear when beating Borehill Joker here last time but that was over slightly further, while Nuit Sombre has to step up a gear after his third at Ludlow but the claimer takes off a handy seven-pounds. La Lambertine was well beaten when falling at the last at Cheltenham but has claims on earlier form, and Reservoir was fancied at Worcester last time so should be noted if the market speaks in his favour again. A tight contest can go to Phar Out Phavorite.
