In depth

Verdict

This trappy event could go to the David Pipe trained Or Apple's, with Admiral Peary and Quazer the most likely dangers. The selection had shown very modest form until his most recent run at Wincanton when an excellent second to Liberty Ben. The trainer may have got to the bottom of this former decent French chaser and he could be ready to start a winning run. Admiral Peary has put in two very good efforts recently and although possibly a little high in the weights he should still be vying for some place money. Quazar is not the force of old but the stable are in good form and he wouldn't have to be at his best to figure in the finish today. Recent winner Earnest could be the best of the others, but Or Apple's could be about to hit peak form and he gets our vote.
