Newcomer Deer Lake, Bramaputra and Persian Sea are the trio to make the shortlist here, with Persian Sea taken to step up on a promising debut third. Jeremy Noseda's Deer Lake is an interesting debutant, being a son of Kings Best out of a multiple winning miler. He is likely to have been well prepared, and at 110,000 Guineas was not a cheap purchase. A daughter of Choisir, out of a Selkirk mare, Bramaputra has finished second on both her starts to date, staying on well behind Rosaleen at Ascot, though the winner has subsequently let the form down. Nonetheless, this looks a good opening for Bramaputra, and she can go well. Persian Sea ran pleasingly on her racecourse bow at Nottingham, keeping on well in third behind Roger Charlton's useful Scuffle. This daughter of Dubai Destination has a mixture of speed and stamina in her pedigree, and Persian Sea can take this.
