Verdict

HYDRANT (NAP) shoulders topweight, including a 6lb penalty, but could hardly be in better form having recently completed a hat-trick in less than a month. The handicapper will exact revenge in time but he was most impressive just nine days ago when routing his field in emphatic fashion at Ayr to complete the three-timer. He'll be hard to beat if remaining at that level of form. Swift Cedar's latest win came in the Channel Islands so this will obviously be harder but he's a tough sort all the same who usually runs his race and rates the main danger. Kantara Castle came back to form last time in line with many of the stable string and is not discounted along with Call Of Duty, a staying-on third over the Newcastle mile latest and sure to be suited by this step-up in trip.
