In depth

Verdict

CHALK STREAM made a winning handicap debut when successful over today’s trip at Leicester. William Haggas' charge won with plenty in hand and another bold bid is expected despite the penalty. Tashkhan went close at York on his debut for a new yard and drops back down to his winning trip for this while Carpentier is upped in distance after placing over a mile on the all-weather. Percy's Pride makes her handicap bow along with Monte Carlo Bay and both are preferred to the more exposed Greystoke.
