This looks an above-average novice stakes. Oman was only beaten a neck by Lone Eagle at Goodwood with the winner going on to land a Doncaster nursery off a mark of 84. Dubai Honour went even closer on his second start at Chester and Military Mission ran well for second at Sandown considering he missed the break and had to wait for the gaps to appear in the straight. It took a while for the penny to drop with SALIGO BAY at Doncaster but he was staying on strongly in the closing stages behind a highly-regarded winner and will know more today. Stanley Baldwin and Bertie's Wish are other likely improvers with Albertville, Olympus and Capo Bay worth noting for future reference.
