Sprinters trained by David Nicholls always have to be respected and Tajneed is no exception but the six-year-old has not reproduced the form that he showed in a valuable race at York in July in three starts since then and a better bet may be PEARLY WEY, who gets the verdict ahead of Filligree in a competitive contest. The selection has improved with each start this term, latterly when finishing a close up sixth behind Brave Prospector at Doncaster, and he looks worth siding with as Clive Cox has his stable in good form. Pretty Bonnie has been running consistently well of late and should be thereabouts again off the same mark as last time but she would probably prefer a softer surface. Eric Alston's Novellen Lad is on a fair enough mark, only 1lb higher than when successful at Redcar in June, and he makes more appeal than Confuchias. Pat Eddery's five-year-old has disappointed of late but the yard is in good form so he cannot be completely discounted. Kevin Ryan's Everymanforhimself is capable but inconsistent and of more interest may be Rae Guest's Filligree, who was good value for her win at Bath recently. This looks tougher though and preference is for Pearly Wey, who can give Clive Cox another winner.
