Verdict
A typicaly open Showcase event with plenty of in-form rivals in opposition including Common World who made a most pleasing seasonal return when a comfortable winner at Sandown (now 9lb higher) despite appearing as though the run was needed. Serieux has always been held in high regard and looked impressive when scoring at York from the re-opposing White Rabbit having pulled too hard in the Greenham. Eric Le Beau has been well placed to land both starts this term but this looks much tougher while easy Thirsk winner Oundle Scoundrel looks the stable first string over Atlantic Quest who flopped last time having won at Newmarket previously. Tahitian Storm was progressive last backend and will relish the cut in the ground while Protectorate is worth another try back at this trip after getting up close home over six at Nottingham last time.
