In depth

Verdict

Karl Burke and Joey Haynes won this last year with Yourartisonfire, who ran well throughout the campaign culminating in a victory at Nottingham. The extra weight he has to carry may not be as big a problem as the fast ground. The stable is also represented by Georgian Bay, who has had a couple of runs on Polytrack and can race from a lower Turf mark here. Gabrial's Kaka, who finished runner-up last year, is entitled to reverse the form on today's terms though he arrived in better form on that occasion. Realize has been in excellent form all winter and has won five times since October. He's 5lb lower on Turf so should make a bold bid to continue his sequence. Until Midnight is another with an excellent strike-rate on the all-weather having won four and been placed the same number of times from 10 starts. He shouldn't be dismissed though, in a wide-open event, it's the veteran PRINCE OF JOHANNE who gets the nod as he goes well fresh, likes the track and is well suited by fast ground.
