    Verdict

Golden Empire arguably has the best form of the two to have raced previously but has found one too good in each of his last three starts and may again have to settle fro a minor role, with Dallool preferred to Cumbria. The last mentioned is a daughter of Singspiel trained by Mark Johnston and a half-sister to smart hurdler Copeland. She should go on the ground and has to be respected, especially with the Johnston stable in such good form. The other newcomer, Neville Callaghan's Woolly Back, makes less appeal being related to some sprinters and we prefer to side with Dallool. The Michael Jarvis-trained colt showed promise on his debut in a decent maiden won by Percussionist at Newmarket's Craven meeting and is entitled to strip fitter for the outing. Being by Unfuwain, out of a Kris mare, he should appreciate the cut in the ground and looks a better bet than the frustrating Golden Empire.
