We are going to take a chance with course and distance winner, King's Ballet, whose two wins have come on soft going. Admittedly, the last of these was 18 months ago. Chispa is still well handicapped at best despite having to shoulder a six-pound penalty and handles soft. Whistler is also carrying a penalty and, again, is well handicapped at best, but the six-pound burden might hinder him. Of the others, Woodland Blaze has won from this mark on soft. His recent wins have come on the AW but he is in good heart and can go well. Multiple winner Soaked's Ripon win on soft in June came from a mark of 66 and he's now on 58, so don't be surprised to see him go well. Mutasawwar has also won from a higher mark but never on going this testing. Desert Royal steps back to this trip for the first time in a while but, on balance, is easily opposable.
