Verdict

An impossible-looking renewal of a contest which usually provides plenty of clues for big handicaps later in the season. Chief Whip has to go on the short-list after a cracking run in a similar race at York course and distance two weeks ago. Stablemate Shaiyem also warrants respect having won well over course and distance two weeks ago while Predilection was only beaten half-a-length in a Listed race on Polytrack 10 days ago and will be a threat to all if translating that form to Turf. Above N Beyond was just touched off at Chester and should again beat fifth Ode To Evening and seventh Still On Top, though has to concede weight all round. Beverley winner Garcia may still be on a decent mark but stable companion ANOTHER TOUCH is also respected, better drawn and may represent more value. The Arcano gelding stayed on strongly on his reappearance over 7f at Doncaster and a return to this longer trip is in his favour. Beaverbrook looks the pick of Mark Johnston's trio.
