It's not difficult to put question marks against all four in a riddle of a race. AULD ALLIANCE has some useful form with Ribblesdale Stakes winner Riposte but has not progressed in the manner of the Cecil filly. She seemed to struggle over this trip last time at Sandown with the firmish ground also posited as a possible reason for that modest effort. However, her master trainer clearly feels otherwise and the Montjeu filly is afforded another chance. Da Do Run Run only landed an ordinary Nottingham maiden before tailing off in the Queens Vase and is hard to assess on that limited evidence whilst Ambleside tackles the trip for the first time and only has a Class 5 Beverley handicap win to his name. Hawk High has been harshly put up 3lb for finishing third here last time but with stamina assured looks the prime threat to the Stoute filly.
