Hov is taken here to translate his two useful racecourse efforts into winning form. He ran well behind the useful Somnus on his only run as a two-year-old and began this season promisingly behind a couple of improving sorts at Doncaster. With the fast ground likely to bring the best out of him he looks a confident choice. Band finished behind the selection at Doncaster but was noted making good late progress and should be closer here. Tim Easterby runners are always respected at this track and Loves Reward could go well on his debut. Any money for this Pursuit Of Love colt would speak highly for his chances in what is not, on paper, a great race. Cross Ash was unfancied on his debut at Thirsk earlier this month but ran well in the closing stages and will have improved for the experience. He could represent good each-way value.
