Verdict
THE NEW ONE has only raced on heavy ground once before, when beaten by At Fishers Cross over further at Cheltenham a couple of years ago. But he's won three times of soft going, including over course and distance in November, and should have the class to defy his big weight in this. Nigel Twiston-Davies' stable star carries 8lb more than his rivals but, on official ratings, still has more than 10lb in hand over Bertimont, beaten 18 lengths by the selection at Cheltenham last time, while Desert Cry hasn't run over hurdles since 2012. Strongpoint is a decent handicapper but is likely to get found out at this level and the remainder will have to improve out of all recognition to get involved.
