There are plenty in with chances in this handicap and the vote goes to CAPE VALE over Novellen Lad and Avontuur. David Nicholls looks to have some big chances on the card and Cape Vale is sure to be popular with punters after going close at Thirsk last time and off his current mark a bold bid is expected. Novellen Lad had a fruitful spell earlier in the summer when he recorded back-to-back wins but he has been a little disappointing since then and he may need a little respite from the handicapper before he is able to resume winning ways. Ruth Carr has enjoyed a great season and Avontuur has certainly paid his way. He still remains on a competitive mark on the evidence of his run at Redcar earlier in the month and he should be difficult to keep out of the frame. Rio Cobolo and Miss Chamanda both disappointed at Chester on Saturday but they both had an excuse as they were done no favours by the draw. They could be capable of better today, but the vote goes to Cape Vale.
