SILAAH gets the vote in this competitive event over Dark Mischief and Barons Spy. The selection is in good form at present and although he has yet to win on the turf, he did run really well last time at Newmarket when he chased home Seamus Shindig and a reproduction of that effort should make him tough to beat. Dark Mischief has a decent strike-rate on the turf having won two of his seven starts and he has to be of interest having run-on in eyecatching fashion in a handicap at Lingfield earlier in the month. Barons Spy is more exposed than some of these but he put in a decent effort at York in a competitive handicap last time and he is capable of being thereabouts at the finish. Master Rooney was entitled to need the run on his return from a lengthy break last time and there could be more to come from him today. However, of more appeal is Silaah who can break his duck in the turf.
