In depth

Verdict

My Turn Now is taken to win this at the expense of Kawagino and Oscar Bay. The selection was a very good horse over hurdles rated 143 at his best. He was a winner off that mark at Cheltenham last April and comes into this novice chase having run well behind Earth Planet last month. Off level weights here with his rivals he is the one they all have to beat if putting in a clear round of jumping. Kawagino has been competing in races in which he has been out of his depth this winter. He was out classed in the champion hurdle and at Aintree last time out. His last chase campaign was not a successful one but he has to be respected in a small field and with a big drop in grade any market moves should be noted. Oscar Bay won two novice hurdles this spring and has his debut over the larger obstacles. His latest win at Chepstow proves he has above average ability but he is competing against some proven performers here so at best he is given an each way chance. So for the winner we return to My Turn now.
