keen, tracked leaders, ridden 2f out, weakened entering final furlong
close up in 5th, ridden 2f out, never a factor
REBEL SURGE only had three to beat at Leicester last week but did it well enough. A 6lb penalty makes this tougher but his rivals are mainly out of form. Courier has won in better company than this though he hasn't been in the best of form this season but the lightly-raced Golden Glimmer, a winner at Chester last May, would have a chance if ready after a long break. Appleberry completed a double in the autumn but is best over shorter while the once-useful Willbeme hasn't won for three years and has changed stables.
