The trio for the shortlist in this Group 3 contest are DUNCAN, Campanologist and Philatelist and narrow preference is for the first mentioned. Trainer John Gosden has enjoyed another fruitful campaign and he can gain another success here. He is eased in grade after bringing up the rear in a Group 2 race at Newmarket last time. He pulled far too hard that day so he had an excuse and prior to that he had looked a really progressive sort. Campanologist disappointed in that same Newmarket race last time when he ran as though something was amiss. If he is back to his best then he would have a big chance but he is one to treat with caution. Philatelist won a handicap in good style at Kempton last time but he has more on his plate today and he will need to improve to make his mark in this company. Staying On has run with great credit in this company already and he does look a progressive sort. He merits respect today but his best form so far has been on fast ground. Tranquil Tiger could be a danger if he is allowed to dictate from the front, but Duncan looks a safer bet and he can regain the winning thread.
