      Verdict

A wide-open finale in which several look to have decent claims. LAGENDA has top weight but looks the class act on his fourth to Castle Harbour at York and subsequent second here behind Calder Prince. He was finishing with a flourish on the latter occasion and a 2lb weight rise is countered by Kevin Stott's claim. Both Tarboosh and Next Life, who represent powerful connections, have won their only start so far and could be anything. Hope Cove won over this trip at Redcar last season and has been running well over 6f while Normandie Lady won easily at Catterick and is open to further improvement. George William was third over track and trip last month after winning on Tapeta but has gone up 4lb since.
