      Verdict

      Unless either of the newcomers Rule For Ever or Anaamil proves to be out of the ordinary this should go to Evolution Ex, who has shown promise in both starts so far and John Gosden's colt gets the vote. The selection lost little in defeat on his belated debut as a juvenile and stepped up on that effort when chasing home Red Racketeer at Windsor last month. A reproduction of that latest effort should suffice for the son of Bahri, who looks to be the clear first string of the stable's two runners with Yazaar needing to improve considerably on his debut effort in the Wood Ditton to take a hand. The John Hills-trained Saltburn Lad has shown only a modicum of ability so far and of more interest may be one of the newcomers. Mark Johnston's horses normally need their first outing so Rule For Ever, a son of Diktat, is probably best watched and a bigger threat is likely to come from Anaamil. The Michael Jarvis-trained filly is bred for stamina being by Darshaan out of the Oaks runner-up Noushkey and has to be respected but Evolution Ex has an obvious chance and gets the vote.
