Verdict

Although only the five line up, this race should prove informative with regard to how strong a couple of early season juvenile races were, in particular with WOOLFALL TREASURE who contested what looked an above average juvenile hurdle given the time of year at Market Rasen recently. A smart flat handicapper, he was never the most straight forward and it is no surprise that headgear is quickly applied despite the fact that there did not seem to be anything ungainly about his performance last time. He seemed to lack the tactical speed to go with the front two in that race and while the second has failed to score since, he too was out-pointed by the highly regarded Nampour. Should no early pace exist, expect Jamie Moore to seize the initiative and make it. Balzaccio was beaten by subsequent scorer Resounding Glory on his hurdling debut. He competed over twelve furlongs in France, finishing placed in five of his six outings. Connections had no reservations with regard to his ability in seeing out the trip as he bowled along in front from the outset on debut. Nino Cochise is an interesting hurdling debutant from the Charlie Egerton yard. Although a maiden on the flat after seven starts, there was bits of promise to be gleaned from those outings. Woolfall Treasure is taken to defy his winners penalty and land this.
