    Verdict

    Handsome Ransom returned a shock winner at Newcastle a fortnight ago and steps up in trip off a 9lb higher mark today. The front-running Good Speech should set the pace once again although she's finding life tough off her current mark while Gabrial's Star and Aleksandar are closely matched on collateral form with Dr Irv on their running over 2m. Bowdler's Magic has been in woeful form this year so the vote goes to THE BETCHWORTH KID. He started this season on a 13lb higher mark and after showing a bit more at Nottingham last month, Michael Bell's charge could go close in this.
