Having reportedly run too free over 1m4f when tailed-off at Musselburgh on the first day of June, Grandorio turned up at York a fortnight later to run his rivals ragged in a five-runner affair, the form of which is rather hard to fathom. The drop to 1m2f seemed to suit that day but he has been hit with a hefty 12lb rise for that success. Conceding 7lb to BROUGHTON will not be an easy task and Mark Johnston's progressive Teofilio colt is taken to build on a ready victory over Endearing in a useful Chester handicap. His overall profile is most appealing and both successes this season have arrived at this trip. Red Avenger has it to do at the weights but Ajmany, below par last time behind Remote at Doncaster, will be a leading player if returning to the level of his reappearance run when third to King Of The Danes at Ascot.
