Nothing particularly strong in a trappy finale and a chance is taken on CORREGGIO. It's been a long time between drinks since he got his head in front - 2015 to be precise - but he's some 31lb lower than his career-high mark now. The excellent Becky Smith is aboard and the Bertolini gelding didn't run at all badly on return from a break at Pontefract last month. Stablemate Canford Thompson is also of interest but Richard Strauss is the main danger. He ran a good second last time at Cartmel over hurdles and has every chance off this mark if transferring the bulk of his hurdling ability to the level. Firby, Golden Jeffrey and The Detainee also merit respect.
