The usual wide-open and competitive renewal with Laafy looking to defy a 9lb rise in the weights for winning at Newbury. He was beaten by Ranch Hand over a longer trip here last season while Babbo's Boy won over 1m2f at this venue on his reappearance and is 7lb higher today. Scarlet Dragon narrowly beat Deja in a valuable Ascot handicap last month with Le Don De Vie and Indianapolis further behind and the first two home have a shout once again while the latter beat Spanish Archer at Leicester back in October. The Trader ended a long losing run at Newmarket on his return though soft ground is a worry for both him and Dal Horrisgle but EUCHEN GLEN won’t mind any further rain. Jim Goldie’s charge looked better than ever in 2018 when winning the John Smith’s Cup at York but missed the whole of last year and will be sharper for last month’s outing in Listed company at Doncaster.
